Mechanically the unit appears to be functional. However, it runs at such a high temperature, I have located the drive away from other items and in a good airflow as I consider that to do otherwise would constitute a fire hazard. Whether this high temperature running will lead to an early failure remains to be seen.

The manual is less than clear to anyone who is not a networking guru and is misleading in that it clearly shows an Apple Mac as part of the diagrammatic network. Whilst the packaging states clearly that it is Windows software, from the diagram it might be assumed that once set up the drive would be accessible to all devices on the network. I have yet to see if remote FTP access is possible via a Mac.

If I were to make a similar purchase I would take more time and spend more money to get a better product.
