The HP StorageWorks 4/8 SAN Switch offers 4 Gb connectivity for entry-level storage area networks (SAN), and the ability to grow to a core-to-edge infrastructure. The simplicity and ease-of-use advantages of these switches help increase administrator productivity and lower the cost of management. The switch delivers eight (upgradeable to16) high performance Auto Sensing 1, 2, and 4Gb/s Fiber Channel ports. An optional 4-port activation license increases the number of active ports to 12 or 16 ports. Plus, the 4/8 SAN Switch is fully non-blocking and provides 64 to 128 Gb switching (4Gb full duplex) bandwidth.
The switch offers 8 active Fiber Channel ports (optional license to activate 16 universal ports).
